NILAI TUGAS pada rentang nilai 60-80

6 Photonics utilizes photons instead of electrons to:
transmit, process, and store information  provides a tremendous gain in capacity and speed in information technology. is an all-encompassing light-based optical technology The invention of lasers (1960), a concentrated source of monochromatic and highly directed light, has revolutionized photonics. laser -- a concentrated source of monochromatic and highly directed light

7 The emphasis is on introducing basic concepts:
Light as photons carries energy, and Light as waves exhibits properties such as interference and diffraction. Light propagation in a medium is dependent on its optical characteristics introducing the concept that the energies of electrons in atoms and molecules have only certain permissible discrete valuesquantization of energies, derived from the wave-like behavior of matter. In the case of molecules, the total energy can be divided into four parts: electronic, vibrational, rotational, and translational. Only electronic, vibrational, and rotational energies are quantized (have discrete values).

8 Light: map concept light photon particle EM wave
the energy of each photon = E = h oscillating magnetic field (B) oscillating electric field (E)  = c
