2 PARADIGMA KURIKULUM SEKOLAH YANG KONTRADIKTIF  Kontradiksi dalam paradigma kurikulum sekolah berpengaruh pada proses pemebelajaran di Perguruan Tinggi  UN berdasarkan KBK ingin mencapai objectives (prescribed objectives : membatasi imajinasi) – hasilnya 94% hanya mencapai “average” dengan nilai 6,45. Lihat Tabel. (Implikasi pada PT : Figure I berikut)  Tantangan masa depan adalah : how to reach understanding as distinct from memorization and to view learning as the construction of personal meaning rather than reproduction of meaning

6 THE BROADER CONTEXT OF OUR LEARNING ENVIRONMENT  The Global knowledge-based economy is both market and knowledge driven creating a new generation of knowledge workers (next slide)  Conventional teacher-based and text-book centered approach to learning cements curriculum over-load leading to passive learning on the part of students  The new learning environment implies a paradigm shift requiring a new focus, i.e. to actualize THE CAPACITY OF LEARNING of students………..
