15 Getting Started with Sigil
Download Sigil and install Open Sigil Open a document in Word to import into Sigil. Save as UTC-8 Unicode html document. Open html file Renaming Chapters How to create a page break.

16 How to import media into Sigil
When importing audio, movies, or photos, remember that the bigger the file size, the larger the overall file size of your ebook. Resize and export media files comparable to exporting for the web. Use a photo editor when importing images into Sigil. There is not a resizing feature once it’s imported. Images and hyperlinks import with the html files. Videos can be enlarged as full screen, although the size of the image of the video may vary based on size of the video. Audio can be imported and played as a read aloud feature in Sigil.

17 Saving and Exporting with Sigil
Save as an ePub file. Drag into iTunes into the “books” tab Sync iPad to iTunes with the new book being added to the device. Preview and test. Open in Calibre

18 Calibre Calibre allows you to edit your ePub files and export them into eBooks for a wide variety of eReaders. You can change and adjust your book cover and edit metadata. It stores other ebooks and can be used in the classroom for online libraries at student workstations. It is a free, open source software.
