Diferensiasi <<, tidak relevan dengan fungsi tubuh (normal). Inti abnormal (membesar), dan mungkin jumlah kromosom. Kemampuan membelah tidak terbatas : telomerase. Membentuk massa tumor. Dapat membelah diri tanpa growth factors. Abnormalitas terbentuk melalaui proses multistage. Mengalami angiogenesis dan metastasis.
