4 Rainbow trout juveniles produced by surrogated masu salmon
In this study, we concluded that ‘Live offspring derived from xenotransplanted germ cells were successfully produced for the first time in vertebrates.’ This is a recent picture of young rainbow trouts yielded from surrogated yamame salmon. They are growing up in good health. Donor-derived offspring from inter-species germ-cell transplantation were successfully produced (Takeuchi et al., 2004, Nature) Yoshizaki, 2008: Simposium Bioteknol.
