When I met with a person from Australia, his name is Edward. He is 40 years old. He come to Bali for holiday around 2 weeks. He stay at Ubud with his wife. We met at Sukawati last week. We talking how about the health insurance in Australia.

He told me that about health insurance in his country. There are two kinds of health insurance in Australia which is National Health Insurance and Employee’s Health Insurance. And everyone have to join one or the other the insurance.

Edward has some health insurance from his hospital/clinic that he work so it is a Employee’s health insurance.

In Australia is a compulsory for everyone to have health insurance. Such as every citizens and foreigner who live more than 1 year, enroll health insurance in Australia.

The payment system in Australia is the salary automatically will be deducted monthly. For the other person the payment system in Australia is based on their health insurance that the have.

The health insurance in Australia also called Medicare and managed by Health Insurance Commisioner standard of Federalisme.

The hospital service in Australia was good advance and well manage. Human and health service in every village. Edward told every person was sick usually will be referred to medical center in every region.

Incase one of their family get sick and have to stay for medical treatment, everyone of the family can take a part in the process of medical treatment. But there will be schedule for visiting and most of Australian very busy working and they trust the doctor or hospital.

Based on the service at the hospital in Australia, the family of the patient will not to stay at the hospital to let the patient get more rest and not to bother them.
