3 LEARNING FOCUS In this session you will learn about:
the used of quantifiers: a lot (banyak), a few (sedikit), a little (sedikit)/ (penggunaan kata penakaran/takaran) Quantifier is a word that expresses a quantity, it use to tell the quantity of an object without counting its number or amount in precise kinds of quantifier are: some, many much, any, a lot, a little, a few Expressing instruction (ungkapan perintah)

4 1. USING “a little” We use a little with uncountable nouns
Example of uncountable nouns: Milk - sugar - sand Water - salt There is a lot of milk in the glass. (ada banyak susu di dalam gelas) There is a little milk in the glass. (hanya ada sedikit susu di dalam gelas) There isn’t any milk in the bottle. (tidak ada susu di dalam gelas)

5 There are a lot of breads on the plate.
2. USING “a few” We use a few with countable nouns Eaxamples: egg, orange, apple, cookies, bread, burger, etc. There are a lot of breads on the plate. (ada banyak roti di atas piring) (ada sedikit roti di atas piring) There is only one bread on the plate. (hanya ada satu roti di atas piring) There are a few of breads on the plate

6 PRACTICE 1 Complete the sentence with the given words in the box. See the picture for clues! There is water in the glass. There sugar in the bowl. There bread in the plate. There jam in the jair. orange juice in the table? glass are there in the table? Is a little are a few how much Isn’t any how many is a lot of

7 To give instructions, we can use imperative
GIVING INSTRUCTION To give instructions, we can use imperative In imperative, the verbs is put in frot of the sentence Examples: Take two slices of bread Spread jam on thebread we can add sequance to show the order (of the instructions) Examples: first (pertama), second (kedua), then (kemudian), now (sekarang), finally (terakhir).

8 PRACTICE 2 Work in pair, and make dialogue like the examples, by using the clues given in your dialogue! Example 1 Example 2 A: Do you have any money? A: Is there a lot of meat? B: Yes, I still have a little money. B: No, there is no meat in my fridge. Clues: a lot of orange a lot of water a few of cheese no meat a little milk a few of cookies no jam a little money

9 MINI DICTIONARY Countable : bisa dihitung Counting : menghitung
Fridge : kulkas Jam : selai Lunchbox : kotak makan Peel : menghapus Precise : dengan tepat, dengan detil Salt : garam Slice : potongan Spread : sebarkan, oleskan (untuk selai) Uncountable : tidak bisa dihitung
