1 SELF MONITORING A regulating one’s behavior to meet the demands of a situation or the expectation of others Pengaturan tingkah laku seseorang yang didasarkan pada situasi eksternal ataupun harapan orang lain.

2 Self-monitoring yang tinggi: tingkah laku seseorang sebagai respon terhadap reaksi orang lain. Seseorang yang memiliki self- monitoring yang tinggi (seperti mantan presiden Clinton) merespon reaksi orang lain dan kemudian berusaha bertingkah laku untuk memenuhi harapan mereka. High self-monitors are chameleons (changing their “colors”), superficial, equivocating (berbohong) Self-monitoring yang kuat berhubungan dengan sukses dalam politik, akting dan penjualan.
