Jurusan Teknik Elektro Fakultas Teknik UNTIRTA Kendali Gerak Motion Controller And Software Motor Drive Motor, Stage, Feedback devices To review the basics of motion system, they are made up of three main components which include: Motor or stage: This component is the portion of the system that actually moves. Stages are mechanical platforms that take rotary motion from a motor and transfer it to useful linear motion that you can use to move an object from one location to another. The advantage of using a stage for your motion system is that all of the mechanical design for bearings and drive trains is already done for you. NI has both a Stage Advisor and a Motor Advisor available from ni.com/motion. The Stage Advisor contains a searchable database of over 140 stages that are compatible with NI motion controllers. Motor drive: This is for taking the low voltage, low current signals from a motion controller and changing them to create enough current and voltage to turn the motors. Each type of motor has a corresponding drive that goes with it. For example stepper motors require stepper drives and DC brushed servo motors require DC brushed servo drives. NI makes a few stepper and servo drives (MID-7604/2, MID-7654/2) and works well with third party drives. Controller and software: The motion controller acts as the brains of the system and performs vital functions such as calculating motion trajectories and monitoring safety limits. NI offers several different motion controllers including the high performance NI 7344 series for stepper and servo motors as well as the low cost NI 7334 controllers for stepper motors.
