SKIVING GUIDES Prepare the skiving tools Lay the leather sheet on Make sure that the knife has the same sharpness along its blade. Mind your knife as flat as possible with the leather, it is better if the knife and leather is almost in a flat surface. Operate the knife to cut the leather Mind your forearm especially between your wrist and elbow. Use your hand as a guide as well as a tool holder. Use skive for oblique skiving. 5. Machine Skiving Types Splitting machine Skiving machine Types of Skiving : a. Turnover skive  it is often used in the wallet folding and edges of bag holder b. Parallel skiving  it is often used for material with pipe and jahit balik. c. Angle skiving it is for joining or folding the leather. d.
