3 19. Sanggul Samuu Mbanta from West Nusa Tenggara
Sanggul Samuu Mbanta is from Samuu Mbojo. Samuu is hair bun, Mbojo is Bima (the name of regency). Samuu Mbojo consist of : Samuu Tuu and Samuu Mbanta - Samuu Tuu is the bun for a bride, with the form of bun like Sempolong Tattong - Samuu Mbojo is the bun for teenager and adult people, with the form like sanggul Malang Characteristic of the bun : The hair without bouffant The length of cemara is cm The form of the bun is symmetric like figure 8 laying, the bun doesn't touch the shoulders. 5 STEPS OF FORMING THE BUN
1. Comb the hair backward, make lungsen. 2. Tight the hair together at the back center, . 3. Attach cemara at the tight . 4. Form cemara : - Cemara is rather twisted and directed leftward (form oval) downward, right upward by forming the same circle - The end of cemara is tuck in the middle as the tighten the bun. - Darl / lungsen is tighten at the center of the bun. 5. ATTACHING ORNAMENT Fresh flower : kamboja, cempaka yellow and white. - At the right is yellow flower 5 – 7 bunch, symbolize the fertile. - At the left is white flower 5 – 7 bunch, symbolize holiness. Characteristic of the bun : The form is rather oval and rather lower The length of sentog (cemara) is ± 80 cm Using simple ornament, 1 hair pin (tusuk konde) from buffalo horns . STEPS OF FOMING THE BUN Part the hair into two section Tight the hair at the back, ± 3 fingers from the head bottom Attach sentog (cemara), draw leftward, twist upward and tuck into the edge of the cemara, rotate to form Kadal Menek (climbing lizard) Attach hairnet to neat the bun. Sanggul Lipek Pandan malacuik kuduak is from West Sumatera, Kabupaten Tanah Datar Kanagarian Pagaruyung, Kecamatan Tanjung Emas, Batu Sangkar. STEPS TO FORM THE BUN Comb the hair backward, tight together under the crown. Attach Cemara, tight at the hair tight. Forming cemara : - Cemara is twisted rightward. - The edge of the tight is pinched with fore finger and middle finger, twist leftward. - Pin the edge tight, take the center of hair, tuck it into the left side of the hole. - The form of the bun is like a tie at the left side and the end is also tucked in to form the tie at the right. - At the right end is tight at the edge of the hair tight. Steps of Form The bun Neat the hair at the right and left of the ears, draw out by using thumb to form the wing. Tight the hair together at the crown, can be back combed a little. Attach cemara. 17 23. SANGGUL JAMBUL LIPET FROM DAYAK, CENTRAL KALIMANTAN
Characteristic of the bun : Hair is back combed or without back comb Cemara medium, the length is cm Using lungsen The form of the bun is figure 8 and symmetric. The front hair (2/3 part) is backed comb tidily (suit with the shape of the form of face and head), 1/3 the hair is tight neatly. Attach cemara on the tight. Form cemara : - Cemara is rotate leftward, upward then rotate rightward, then upward again and the end is at the center. - The end hair is tuck in neatly and strongly. - Neat the hair at the center with hairspray until pointed, tuck it into the cemara at the left side. 5. Attach hairnet to neat the bun 6. Ornament in the form of tusuk konde gold/imitation are attached to beautify the bun. 20 24. SANGGUL BELATTUNG GELANG FROM LAMPUNG
Belattung means sanggul (hair bun) Kinds of women’s hair bun from Lampung : Belattung gelang Belattung Tebak (=gelung Malang) Belattung miring Belattung Kipas Belattung Ucung, the form is like stuffed at the center of hair. STEPS TO FORM THE BUN Give oil / hairspray to the hair Part the hair into two : - The back part is tight (± 3 fingers from the bottom head), the rest hair is a little back combed to improve volume. - The front part is back combed, directed backward and unite with the first tight. 3. Attach cemara on the tight. 4. Form cemara : - Cemara is twisted leftward, upward and directed rightward, downward to form a circle like a tie. - The end of the hair is tight in the center of the bun. ATTACHING ORNAMENT 1. A pair of cunduk bulan sabit lunik (kecil), made from gold/silver/imitation, are attached on the right and left facing at the string of the bun tight of Buwok Lusei 2. A cunduk bulan besar, made from gold/silver/imitation, is attached on the bun at the center. 3.
