Note: Light is a special case, it exhibits wave-like properties but does not require a medium through which to propagate. A single peak or trough we call a pulse. 15 4. Difraction (Pembelokan lewat celah sempit) 5. Dispersion Dispersion is a property of waves where the speed of the wave through a medium depends on the frequency. So if two waves enter the same dispersive medium and have different frequencies they will have different speeds in that medium even if they both entered with the same speed. Sebuah gelombang sinus berjalan dalam arah x positif memiliki amplitudo 15 cm, panjang gelombang 40 cm dan frekuensi 8 Hz. Pergeseran dalam arah vertikal pada saat x=0 dan t=0 sejauh 15 cm. (Seperti terlihat pada gambar). Berapakah bilangan gelombang k, periode T dan frekuensi sudut  dan kecepatan gelombang v? Tentukan beda fase  dan tuliskan persamaan gelombang tersebut.
