6 Residential subdivisions (pemukiman) dan site development Survey diperlukan dalam penentuan batas areal proyek sehingga tidak menabrak areal lain dan juga diperlukan dalam penentuan posisi tiang beton. Highway Survey topografi (kontur) digunakan engineer untuk desain alignment jalan sehingga kelandaian misalnya tidak lebih dari 6%. Pada kondisi tikungan (akibat adanya fitur eksiting: sungai, gunung, hutan, dsb) sehingga masih sesuai dengan kriteria desain (% tikungan, panjang jalan lurus maksimal, dsb). Jembatan Survey koordinat untuk menentukan posisi tiang penyangga jembatan sehingga tidak terputus. Drainase, saluran air limbah, perpipaan, kanal Survey topografi menentukan jalur perpipaan yang paling sedikit membutuhkan cut and fill.
