2 Coelenterata coelenteron = rongga
Rongga tubuh sebagai saluran pencernaan Cnidaria (cnido = penyengat) Sel penyengat di tentakel Tentakel vang dilengkapi sel Knidoblas yang mengandung racun sengat disebut Nematokis (ciri khas dari hewan berongga). Hydra, ubur-ubur, anemon laut dan koral

3 Diploblastik : dua lapisan sel, yaitu ektoderm (epidermis) dan endoderm (lapisan dalam atau gastrodermis). Ektoderm berfungsi sebagai pelindung sedang endoderm berfungsi untuk pencernaan. Sel-sel gastrodermis berbatasan dengan coelenteron atau gastrosol.

4 Respirasi dan ekskresi secara difusi
Sistem syaraf menyebar ke seluruh tubuh. Beberapa menunjukkan polymorphism, dimana tipe individu yang berbeda ada dalam satu koloni dengan fungsi yang berbeda. Bentuk ini disebut Zooids Reproduksi aseksual (pembentuka tunas) dan secara sexually (gametes)

5 Klasifikasi Coelenterata dibedakan dalam tiga kelas berdasarkan bentuk yang dominan dalam siklus hidupnya, yaitu Hydrozoa, Scypozoa, dan Anthozoa.
