MODUL BAHASA INGGRIS I INFORMATIKA Pertemuan 9 : Passive Voice Tiu Tik : Mahasiswa memahami tentang pola kalimat pasif dalam Bahasa Inggris : Mahasiswa memahami tentang definisi kalimat pasif dalam Bahasa Mahasiswa memahami pola-pola kalimat pasif sesuai dengan tensesnya (Basic Tense). 10.1 Passive Voice Ex : Bila subjek dikenai suatu pekerjaan / perlakuan Active The teacher teaches English every week Passive English is taught by the teacher every week S to be Verb3 by object adverb of time Form : Passive (+) subject + to be + Verb3 + by + object + Adverb of time (-) subject + to be + not + Verb 3 + by + object + Adverb of time (?) to be + subject + verb3 + by + object + adverb of time 10.2 Perubahan dari kalimat aktif menjadi kalimat pasif : 1. Objek dalam kalimat aktif menjadi subjek dalam kalimat pasif 2. Ditambah to be sesuai dengan tenses dan subjeknya 3. Ubahlah kata kerja asal dalam kalimat pasif menjadi kata kerja ke-3 (Verb 3) 4. Boleh ditambahkan by (oleh) + objek yang berasal dari subjek dalam kalimat aktif 10.3 Pola kalimat pasif sesuai dengan tensesnya : 1. Simple Present Tense Subject + am/is/are + Verb3 + by + object + Adverb of time

Subject + will be + Verb3 + by + object + Adverb of time Ex : Active Passive We will buy a dictionary tomorrow A dictionary will be bought by us tomorrow 4. Present Continuous Tense Subject + is/am/are + being + Verb3 + by + object + Adverb of time Ex : Active Passive They are studying English now English is being studied by them now 5. Present Perfect Tense Subject + have/has been + Verb3 + by + object + Adverb of time Ex : Active Passive The student has finished the task already The task has been finished by the student already 6. Modals Auxiliary Subject + Modals + be + Verb3 + by + object + Adverb of time Ex : Active Passive He can play a guitar very well A guitar can be played by him very well Exercise : Make the sentences into Passive Voice : 1. She practises her piano lesson every evening

Simple Future Simple Future has two different forms in English: "will" and "be going to." Although the two forms can sometimes be used interchangeably, they often express two very different meanings. These different meanings might seem too abstract at first, but with time and practice, the differences will become clear. Both "will" and "be going to" refer to a specific time in the future. FORM Will [will + verb] Examples:  You will help him later. Will you help him later? You will not help him later. FORM Be Going To [am/is/are + going to + verb]
