22 Tenses:  Jika merujuk ke masa lampau gunakan, past tense.  Jika tidak merujuk ke masa lampau, future tense dapat digunakan bila relevan.  Jika mendiskusikan suatu isu, gunakan present tense.

25 B. Results and Discussion (Bersatu)  1) Struktur a-b a-b : Hasil diikuti oleh komentar, kemudian hasil dan diikuti komentar, dst.  2) Struktur a-a-a-b: Tuliskan beberapa hasil, lalu ikuti dengan komentar. Hasil harus dapat dikomentari secara bersamaan.

26 DISCUSSIONS  Menampilkan informasi latar belakang.  “Berdasarkan pola empat-langkah di atas, data yang berupa lima puluh intisari diteliti untuk mengetahui pola-pola wacananya. Hasil analisis itu tersaji dalam table berikut.”

27 Menampilkan ringkasan hasil temuan  Dapat dilihat bahwa berdasarkan tabel di atas, tidak semua intisari yang diteliti memiliki empat langkah. Kendati sebagian besar (98%) memiliki Langkah 1 dan Langkah 3, dua puluh dua intisari (44%) tidak memiliki langkah 2.

28 Memberikan komentar apakah hasil penelitian sesuai dengan hipotesis  Berdasarkan hipotesis studi ini bahwa tulisan ilmiah mengikuti pola retorika universal dan bebas dari pengaruh bahasa tertentu, seharusnya hasil analisis artikel ilmiah Indonesia menggunakan model analisis CARS, sama dengan hasil analisis artikel ilmiah berbahasa Inggris. Namun hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan perbedaan-perbedaan penting yang dapat dijelaskan oleh 3 faktor, yaitu tingkat literasi akademis di Indonesia, masalah praktis dan masalah budaya.

29 Menghubungkan dengan hasil penelitian lainnya.  Dari pembahasan di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa intisari artikel penelitian experimental memiliki beberapa pola organisasi wacana yang mirip dengan pola wacana bagian pengantar (Swales, 1981) dan bagian pembahasan artikel penelitian (Peng, 1987; Hopkins & Dudley-Evans, 1988).

30 Menjelaskan hasil yang diperoleh  Namun demikian, perlu dicatat bahwa penelitian ini baru merupakan langkah awal. Jadi diperlukan lebih banyak lagi penelitian serupa yang diperlukan untuk mengkaji struktur wacana dan ciri-ciri bahasa intisari artikel penelitian.

31 Membuat generalisasi dari hasil yang diperoleh  Dari pembahasan di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa intisari artikel penelitian eksperimental memiliki beberapa pola organisasi wacana yang mirip dengan pola wacana bagian pengantar.

32 Memberikan rekomendasi untuk penelitian selanjutnya  Penelitian lebih lanjut dengan sampel lebih besar sangat diperlukan untuk menentukan sejauh mana korpus yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dapat mewakili intisari artikel penelitian eksperimental.
