22 DKP Imbau Nelayan Gunakan Penghemat Bahan Bakar Jakarta, Sinar Harapan Selasa 19 April 2005 Pemerintah melalui Departemen Kelautan dan Perikanan mengimbau masyarakat nelayan menggunakan EGB (Elektronic Gas Buster) sebagai alat penghemat bahan bakar untuk mengurangi biaya operasi melaut sehubungan dengan kenaikan harga bahan bakar minyak (BBM) oleh pemerintah pada 1 Maret 2005 lalu. Demikian disampaikan Kepala Pusat Informasi dan Layanan Masyarakat Departemen Kelautan dan Perikanan aji Sularso, Senin (18/4). “Dengan mengggunakan EGB, setidaknya bisa membantu mengurangi beban masyarakat nelayan karena penghematan dengan menggunakan alat ini cukup berarti,” kata Aji. Untuk meyakinkan fungsinya sebagai alat penghemat bahan bakar, Aji menambahkan bahwa alat tersebut sudah melalui uji coba yang dilakukan di Pekalongan, Jawa Barat dengan menggunakan kapal berbobot 96 GT (Gross Tonage) dengan daya mesin 300 PS serta kapasitas mesin 14.398 CC dalam melakukan kegiatan penangkapan ikan. Hasilnya, saat tidak menggunakan EGB, maka BBm yang dibutuhkan sebanyak 11.000 liter untuk 55 hari. Akan tetapi, setelah menggunakan EGB tipe XL-20, BBM yang dibutuhkan menurun menjadi 10.000 liter. Artinya menurut Aji terjadi penghematan sekitar 1000 liter atau 9 persen. Aji mengemukakan uji coba yang sama juga dilakukan di Tegal dengan menggunakan kapal berbobot 6 GT dengan daya mesin 120 PS dan kapasitas mesin 3.907 CC. Hasilnya, dengan pemakaian EGB ternyata penghematan yang terjadi dalam setiap kegiatan penangkapan ikan dengan bobot kapal tersebut bisa mencapai 15 liter atau berkisar antara 10-25 persen. Aji menambahkan hingga saat ini pengadaan alat penghemat bahan bakar minyak yang dilakukan oleh Departemen Kelautan dan Perikanan seluruhnya telah mencapai 650 unit bagi nelayan dengan rincian pada tahun 2004 sebanyak 561 unit dan Maret 2005 sekitar 100 unit. Pengadaan alat dengan nilai Rp 1,09 miliar itu anggarannya melalui dana APBN, lalu dibagikan cuma-cuma bagi nelayan untuk dipasangkan pada kapal ikan. Hanya saja, Aji mengakui bahwa belum semua masyarakat nelayan dapat menikmati fungsi dari alat penghemat tersebut. Hingga saat ini pendistribusian alat tersebut menurutnya masih diperuntukkan pada kapal atau perahu bermesin dalam (in board) dan harus menggunakan aki. Adapun alasannya, kata Aji, dikarenakan jenis-jenis EGB yang saat ini dapat digunakan oleh masyarakat nelayan antara lain EGB standar kapasitas 1.500 CC, EGB Super Kapasitas 1.500 CC sampai 5.000 CC dan EGB XL-20 dengan kapasitas 5.000 sampai 20.000 CC.(fel) k.0;’] Clipping from local News Paper,Sinar Harapan.
