Description One difficulty in translation stems from the fact that most words have multiple meanings. Because of this fact, a translation based on a one-to-one substitution of words is seldom acceptable. We have already seen this in the poster example and the telescope example. Whether a translation is done by a human or a computer, meaning cannot be ignored. I will give some more examples as evidence of the need to distinguish between possible meanings of a word when translating. Also we will give some examples about the wrong translation because sometimes we translate a word based on one-to-one subtitution of word
