History Green Leaves English Centre (GLEC) pertama berdiri 22 April 2007, pada Hari Bumi. GLEC adalah Griya belajar Bahasa Inggris semi privat dan privat, dimana jumlah siswa dalam satu kelas maksimal 8. Ini karena tujuan GLEC adalah kualitas, bukan kuantitas. Dengan jumlah siswa yang tidak terlalu banyak, guru dapat membantu siswa dengan lebih mudah. Green Leaves bukan hanya rumah untuk berlatih berbahasa Inggris, tetapi juga rumah bagi mereka yang mendukung sekali pelestarian alam dan perdamaian dunia. GLEC menjadi anggota Green Peace International dan turut menyumbang program pelestarian lingkungan sejak 2007 hingga sekarang. Green Leaves mengajak siapa saja dari usia 5 – 50 tahun untuk tumbuh lebih baik dalam pengetahuan, perdamaian dan ketrampilan berbahasa. Mereka yang belajar di GLEC diharapkan dapat: ● belajar dan berlatih berbahasa Inggris dengan baik dan benar. ● mempelajari semua aspek dan ketrampilan bahasa seperti speaking (berbicara), listening (mendengarkan), pronunciation (pengucapan), grammar (tata bahasa), vocabulary (kosakata), writing (menulis dan reading (membaca dan memahami text). ● berlatih berbicara Bahasa Inggris dengan pembimbing dan teman di dalam maupun di luar area Green Leaves. ● menyadari bahwa mereka adalah warga dunia yang beranekaragam bangsa,warna kulit, suku,bahasa, agama dan saling menjaga perdamaian antar sesama di dalam maupun di luar areal Green Leaves. ● mendukung pelestarian alam, dengan menjaga lingkungan tetap bersih dan hijau. ● berlatih menjadi pribadi yang penuh syukur, tekun, jujur dan bertanggung jawab, untuk meningkatkan kualitas ASK (Attitude - sikap, Skill - ketrampilan, dan Knowledge - pengetahuan) Untuk membantu siswa jarak jauh atau terbatasnya waktu, mulai 22 April 2010 GLEC memberi wadah untuk belajar bahasa Inggris secara online melalui www.GLEC-online.co.cc

METHOD General English Integrated learning method: speaking,listening,vocabulary,pronunciation,reading,writing,grammar diajarkan dalam satu paket belajar. GLEC meyakini bahwa menghilangkan salah satu aspek/ketrampilan tersebut membuat proses belajar bahasa menjadi tidak utuh. Listening adalah pelajaran wajib setiap pertemuan, karena pelajaran mendasar dari belajar bahasa adalah dengan mendengar (seperti proses berbicara seorang bayi). Oleh karenanya GLEC mempercayakan materi listening langsung pada native speaker melalui kaset/CD pilihan. Kegiatan belajar di GLEC dilakukan seperti suasana dalam keluarga, misalnya percakapan sehari-hari, bermain,memasak,mendengar lagu, maupun menggambar. Kegiatan belajar dirancang efektif 70 menit/pertemuan, 10 menit warming up, 60 menit materi inti aktif tanpa sibuk mencatat materi seperti model sekolah, materi latihan dan pelajaran sudah tercetak,siswa hanya mencatat materi tambahan,10 menit review dan closing.
