Enhancing research impact through research management and leadership Yodi Mahendradhata Vice Dean for Research & Development Faculty of Medicine Universitas Gadjah Mada Ass Wr Wb, Salam Sejahtera untuk kita semua, Hadirin yg kami hormati Dalam kesempatan ini kami ingin berbagi refleksi atas perjalanan FK UGM selama dalam rangka menghasilkan penelitian2x yg berdampak luas bagi kesmas di Indonesia Namun sebelum itu kami ingi berbagi sebuah artikel yg menurut kami cukup menarik, artikel tsb dipublikasi di jurnal Nature, salah satu jurnall dg IF tertinggi

Judulnya sbb Argumentasinya disini untuk dapat menghasikan riset2x yg berdampak luas, maka para ilmuwan harus dapat memimpin dengan baik Karena dewasa ini sangat jarang ada temuan-temuan yang dihasilkan oleh seorang professor yg berdiri sendiri Hampir semua temuan2x besar sekarang ini adalah hasil kolaborasi dari banyak peneliti. Professor2x di Jerman misalnya biasanya setidaknya memimpin sebuah research group yg terdiri dari beberapa postcdoc dan beberapa mhs S3 Dengan demikian professor tsb setidaknya berperan sebagai scientist leader Di tempat kita pola ini belum sepenuhnya terbentuk, kita lihat masih banyak professor yg bekerja sendiri, tidak memimpin sebuah research group Terlepas dari itu di lembaga penelitian di negara maju ini juga masih banyak tantangan

Dalam karikatur yg mentertai artikel tsb digambarkan kompleksitas masalah kepemimpinan di lembaga penelitian Masing-masing peneliti mengerjakan penelitian dlm kelompoknya masing, tanpa koordinasi, jarang berkomunikasi dan kadang samapi konflik antar peneliti Dan disini digambarkan pimpinan lembaga tersebut seakan blank, tidak tahu apa yg harus diperbuat, karena belum pernah dibekali ataupun disiapkan untum memimpin Ini gambaran yg agak esktrim, Insya Allah di linkungan kita tdk separah itu Bagaimana gambaran di FK UGM
